Mark Warburton future at Rangers football club is Speculated
The future of manager Mark Warburton at Rangers football club has been under speculation with reports of the two being unable to agree an extension to the manager’s contract.
Warburton has been praised for his managerial skills that have led Rangers back to the Scottish Premier league. However, the big challenge for the club will come in the upcoming campaign when they have to stay in the division after having been out for so long. Further, there will be renewed rivalry with Celtic, who have been winning league titles with an alarming consistency of late.
Rangers were looking to offer double-the-money contract for Warburton, who is on around £ 300,000 per year. However, recent reports have suggested that the manager may be looking for more than just £ 600,000 per year. Warburton had just been crowned as the PFA manager of the year last season. Rangers won the Championship last season and they have been linked with a whole host of players in order to strengthen the squad. Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw is reportedly one of the transfer targets for the club. However, Rangers have denied any rumours that they have been speaking with the striker who has scored more than 20 goals for a second consecutive campaign.
Bradshaw failed to make it to the Euro 2016 squad with Wales due to a calf injury.“We successfully achieved our target for the first year of our three-year contract and remain on course for the coming year. Mark remains committed to seeing this exciting project through to the end and continues to express his thanks to the supporters and to the board for the opportunity and support the club has given him,” said Rangers in order to dismiss the rumours about Warburton thinking twice about committing to Rangers in the long-term.
