NEW CONTRACTS FOR TRIO
The Rangers manager Ally McCoist has decided to offer new contracts to three of the young players at the club. Rangers have been extremely confident of getting back into the first division of Scottish football.
There has been heavily on recruiting new players, but it is just not the arrival of new players that is strengthening the club. They have decided to offer new contracts to young players who have come through the ranks at the club. Barrie McKay, Robbie Crawford and Lewis Macleod are the three players who have been offered a new contract by the club.
The Rangers manager Ally McCoist has said that securing the future of the highly talented players in youth academy of the club was as important as bringing in new talent through the transfer window. Barrie McKay has been one of the most wanted players in the summer transfer window after he has been linked with a number of high-profile clubs like Everton. However, the 17-year-old has now signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at the club for the next five seasons. Barrie McKay has been at the club since 2011. The 19-year-old Robbie Crawford has also been hugely impressive in the few matches.
"It's brilliant. I wouldn't want to sign anywhere else so to be here at Rangers is great. I've been here since I was 10 so it's been a long time and a big part of my life. Playing week in and week out in front of almost 50,000 fans has been great. It's a big difference from playing under-19s football. The tempo is much higher but when you play with better players I think you improve yourself. I think that has helped a lot of aspects of my game," said Lewis Macleod on the official website of the club.
