NO PREMIER LEAGUE BID FOR LOWRY

Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry has reportedly not agreed a move to the Premier League amidst reports of interest from Manchester City and Newcastle United. This is according to Fourth Official which stated that sources close to Rangers say that the Scottish champions have not received a bid for the young midfielder.

Reports in the media in the past weeks revealed that Premier League champions Manchester City and new Premier League moneybags Newcastle United wanted to sign Lowry. It was also suggested that Newcastle United were closing in on a move for the player. The report of a move to Newcastle United has since been debunked with Rangers sources claiming that the young midfielder is happy at Ibrox and that he’s not looking to force what would be a mega move away from the Scottish Premiership giants.

Fourth Official conveyed the transfer message on young Lowry on the official Patreon page on Thursday. It was stated that neither Newcastle United nor Manchester City have contacted Rangers on the possibility of signing Lowry not to talk of a bid for the player. Two sources inside the Glasgow Rangers camp said that the player is happy at the club and not keen on a move away from the club at the moment.

One of the targets for Dutchman Giovanni Van Bronckhorst ahead of next season might be to tie down Lowry to a long-term contract at the club. Lowry has been able to make a step up from the reserves to the first team at the club. Rangers manager Van Bronckhorst will do well to ward off the interest of teams in Lowry especially the ones from the Premier League. For now, the immediate challenge for Giovanni Van Bronckhorst is the league title in Scotland and the Europa League semifinals where they will face German team RB Leipzig.
