RANGERS, SAINTS EYEING £3m WINGER

Two clubs are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy when the transfer window reopens in the summer. This is according to the report from the stables of the Football Insider which stated that the two clubs interested in the Newcastle United player are Glasgow Rangers and Southampton.

Glasgow Rangers have qualified for Champions League football for the new season after winning the Scottish Premiership title this season and the club is already planning to reinforce the playing squad with players in the bid to cope with the uneasy demands of playing Champions League football.

The abovementioned report revealed that Glasgow Rangers could bolster their squad with the signing of Jacob Murphy who's available for just £3m. Newcastle United are willing to sell him in the summer if they receive good offers for him.
The Saints are also keen on the player and they will have to see off Glasgow Rangers to sign him.

Murphy has been a regular in the Newcastle United XI in recent times and he has made some big contributions to take his club away from the relegation zone. Manager Steve Bruce has trusted him with the right wing back spot in his team and he has not done badly.

His last major contribution to the Magpies’ quest to survive the drop this season was when he scored the goal that ignited the fightback in a recent match against Burnley. Murphy scored a second half equaliseroff the assist from substitute Allan Saint-MaximinafterMatejVydra had given hosts Burnley the lead in the first half. Frenchman Saint-Maximin then scored the winning goal to hand the Magpies a 2-1 away win having come on as a second half substitute for the ineffective Dwight Gayle.
