RANGERS SQUAD REVEALED FOR HIBS GAME
Scottish Premiership table toppers Rangers face a potentially tricky league game against Hibernian on Boxing Day and manager Steven Gerrard has named a provisional squad ahead of the game. Rangers welcome the duo of Jordan Jones and George Edmundson into the squad after the two players served a seven-game ban. Jones and Edmundson were suspended for flouting Covid-19 regulations. It remains to be seen whether the two players would make the final squad for the Hibs game at home on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers are expected to be without Ryan Jack for the Hibs game as he has not recovered in time from injury to face Jack Ross and his players. Ryan Jack was not on the 25-man provisional Rangers squad ahead of the Hibernian game. Long-term absentee Nikola Katic also misses out through injury.Rangers have welcomed back Leon Balogun into their team again this week after his recovery from concussion.
Leon Balogun was on the Rangers bench for the whole of the last game, a 3-0 away win over home club St. Johnstone who ended the game with a man short due to the dismissal of Michael O'Halloran after two yellow cards. Kemar Roofe, IanisHagi and Glen Kamara were the goalscorers for Rangers whomaintained their healthy lead over nearest challengers and defending champions Celtic as a result of the comprehensive victory over St. Johnstone. Rangers have 16 more points than Celtic at this stage of the season though the holders have three games at hand and they would be hoping to earn maximum points from those outstanding games to close the gap on the league leaders. A win in all the games will take Celtic to within seven points of Rangers as they bid to win the Scottish Premiership title for ten straight seasons at the expense of Steven Gerrard and his players at Rangers.
