SEVILLA FAVOURITES TO SIGN MORELOS
Spanish La Liga side Sevilla have been installed as favourites to sign Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos during this summer's transfer window. The former Europa League winners were confirmed as favourites to sign the Colombian star by Betfair. Morelos has been seriously linked with a move away from Glasgow Rangers as he enters into the final year of his current deal with the reigning Scottish Cup winners. His Rangers contract runs until next summer.
Sports betting platform Betfair recently released odds on the next club for Morelos after Glasgow Rangers and Sevilla are priced at 3/1. They are ahead of several Premier League teams.
Morelos has been the first choice striker at Rangers in recent seasons and reports claimed that only a transfer fee in the region of at least £20m would prompt club officials to sell the Colombian attacker who missed the Europa League final due to injury. Morelos was sorely missed as Rangers lost to German team Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties after the two teams were inseparable at the end of extra time. They settled for a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes before Welshman Aaron Ramsey missed the decisive penalty to hand Frankfurt their first European trophy. Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo started upfront for Rangers during the Europa League final in the absence of the injured Morelos and he was responsible for the lone Rangers goal.
25-year-old Morelos has been at Rangers since he joined them from HJK Helsinki in Finland. He has scored 112 goals in 224 games for the Scottish Premiership outfit till date.
On the Betfair platform, Sevilla are the non-Premier League team to feature in the bid to sign Morelos from Glasgow Rangers. Aston Villa are second-best at 6/1, Crystal Palace are third-best at 7/1, Newcastle United are next at 8/1 while Leicester City are outsiders at 10/1.
