What Does Barry Ferguson Say about Steven Gerrard?

Glasgow Rangers icon Barry Ferguson is disappointed with the performance of Alfredo Morelos. He has openly shown his displeasure saying that the ace player has lost his previous zeal. He suspects that this poor performance could hamper Steven Gerrard’s future.

Ferguson writing in the Daily Record said that Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe are set to return this month and Jermain Defoe is expected to return after the international break. In this way, Colombia forward is going to emerge as a strong team.

He has further admitted that “I was not happy with Morelos because his display completely disappointed me. I was expecting him to be more energetic and eager to properly prove him”. He further wrote that “I was expecting a lot from him and I’ve stood up a number of occasions for him but I wasn’t happy with that particular performance at Livingston”.
Sharing his displeasure, he wrote that “I fully expected him to have the bit between the teeth again now that there is more competition for places.” He further said that “I expected him to send out the message, ‘I’m the No.9 here and nobody is taking my shirt!’. “But on Sunday he didn’t look like he had any real zeal for the battle and that must be a big concern for the manager”.
Morelos was performing best at the beginning of the season and he had scored two goals. According to critics, his performance against Livi was average at the best. However, Gerrard had said earlier this month that he was sure Morelos would be perfect and the current performance doesn’t mean that the player will perform poorly in the future too.
So, his expectation was too high and this poor performance may add another blot for the wrong prediction.
